Alright all you skirts out there! I was talking Darcy about Anime Expo recently and we've come up with a brillant and exciting plan for next year! We're curious, are any of you interested in doing a cross country train trip to Expo? It's all speculation right now, but if you like the idea of getting a huge group of skirts together and taking Amtrak to California in June, let us know. Depending on how many enthusiastic fans we can get together, we'll see about contacting the Atlanta station and booking the appropriate amount of seats and maybe even spread this idea to the other boards, like the Rangers, Wrenches, Sharpshooters and so on. We're working out the details so it's important that you let us know if you want to try to do this early on so we can work on hotel stuff too. It's a pretty big project to pull together but if we know we have your support, we can make it work. So if you are onboard with this idea, (terrible pun I know) show us some of that MSA spirit!!!!
Much Love, Marysia

Heh, I'm broker than a joke, man. If I could afford it, I'd go. AWA sapped my wallet dry. -cry-

It's not until next year! If you start saving now ^_~ ( I'm so broke too! HA! I seem to enjoy digging myself deeper and then filling up the hole with a ton of dirt. ) I'm about $600 short of what I owe this month. Glory me, if I'm not in court or jail in June, I'm on the train to expo!

Like I said when you mentioned it to me before, LOVE the idea. If I'm not too tied up with my business to go I'm totally in on that.

Heh, I'm broker than a joke, man. If I could afford it, I'd go. AWA sapped my wallet dry. -cry- Oh yeah!!! Me too!!! But, by next summer, I should be good. And, if we get enough people, we might be able to get group rates on the train:) The other part of the train ride is we can all bring food and stuff for ourselves -- it's a pretty inexpensive way to travel -- I've done it before:) The whole fun part of this is a group of anime fans traveling on the train together, just hanging out for a day or two prior to and after the con. It will be a great way to meet new people. People will board the train at different stops along the way. OMG, I can't even tell you how much fun that would be. And, if we had enough interest, maybe we could get trainfare for a VA or two to join our little train party! Just a thought. Everyone - pipe up! This is really a great idea:) Darcy Ann:) Skirt #116.

Very cool idea! ^^ I'm totally loving it, but this coming summer I plan on going to Europe as part of a group that my history teacher is leading - it's going to be pretty expensive, needless to say, even though it's a lot cheaper than other trips... So probably not this year, but, if you guys plan on doing it again/ it doesn't get off the ground but you still want to try, I'm all for trying to make it work summer of 2008!! Sorry, I know that doesn't help you out too much right now, but by that June I'll have already been in college for one year, and I know my parents would probably be more accepting of an idea like that...

I'm already paying off this year's con, then I'm saving for next year's AWA. If I made more money, this wouldn't be much of a problem.

Wow, you are actually planning something like this?! Good luck with that and I hope that any Skirts that can afford, do it! Anime Expo is so worth it! This year was worth it! The Fuhrer along with Vic, Laura Bailey, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Kyle Hebert, Mike McFarland and Troy Baker where at AX this year!! You guys have to gotta come out!!! And to the individual who thinks he/she can't come out due to AWA...well, good luck their to you...we all must make sacrifices. OH! Funny thought.....on the train ride out...some of you guys could re-enact Ed and Al's train ride to Central!!! A friend and I did that on the train at Knott's Berry Farm, but we had that we were headed to Dublith to face Izumi-sensei...*shudder* Anyway, GOOD LUCK!!!

It's funny you mentioned that because I came up with the train concept with "Just like Ed and Al" in mind. Ha! Yeah, AWA is a nice con but EXPO is in a whole different league of convention. Seems like a much better investment to me. ^_^ Thanks for the support!

lol, OF COURSE! just because we're skirts doesn't mean we can't love the BIC!!!!! He's so sweet! ahem, anyway. I'd love to... but I think I'm just a tad out of the way for a train ride.... I live in Boise Idaho and last time I checked we don't have many train stations. I'm all for getting together at a hotel though and hanging out. *shrug* I'll deff. be in on a hotel get together.... but I don't think I'm on route enough for a train ride *sob*. Oh well, I'll see you all there at least... let me know about hotel bookings and ideas alright! *bows* JA NE!

That's cool Elf, but either way, if you want to check out hotels out here near Long Beach Convention Center, you should go to www.anime-expo.org, then there is a news update about a site set up by AX about hotels. Its called www.AXTravelStore.org, either way, make sure to check it out and I hope you can make it out next year, even if its not on a train with the other Skirts. See ya!

I heard all the hotels close to the convention center are booked from the website. I dunno about the ones in the city in general.

Hey guys, as far as Con. Hotels that would be taken over by SPJA hasn't been totally confirmed yet, the only thing up hotel related is www.AXTravelStore.org where you can look for hotels at a cheap price. SO DON'T FREAK ABOUT THE HOTELS!! Most newbies do and its no big deal!! Anyway, there is still time, hotels aren't going to book up that quickly.
