The last movie I saw was also COS. The movie was great, but there weren't many people there. It was a bit disappointing...

You guys are soooo lucky that you got to see COS in theaters. It wasn't showing anywhere in Ohio so I had to wait for the DVD. Anyway, the last movie I saw in theaters was X-men 3: The Last Stand. I liked it but i still think X2 was better since it had Nightcrawler, it was knid of dissapointing that he wasn't in the third one too.

I went to see a movie last night! Two guesses what it was! .... No, not "The Guardian." I wanted to go see it, but Dad said that it looked like a crap movie ( !) As was the vote for "Flyboys", my other choice. So...went to see "The Illusionist." O. M. G!!!!!!It was such a good movie! It was basically a love story set in turn-of-the-century Vienna between a magician (Edward Norton) and his childhood friend (Jessica Biel) who just happens to be a duchess. He loves her. She loves him. All is rather hunky-dory. Only...the Crown Prince of the Holy Roman Empire (Rufus Sewell) kind of has his sights on her. Thus ensues the humiliation of the future Holy Roman Emperor at the hands of the son of a cabinet maker. Of course, the Prince doesn't take to well to this and in his anger does something that pisses the magician off very royally and causing him to dabble in the darker powers of magic to expose the Prince's crime. Now...onto the review! What you have to understand is that Eisenheim (the magician) is an illusionist and illusions play a very big part in the movie. Keep that in mind. I thought Edward Norton's acting was very good. In the scenes where his magic drains his energy, he really does look less than energized. His eyes are red, he's pale, he's sweating, and more than one vein pulses visibly as he tries to hang on to his magic. He looked like he very well near killed himself in some of those scenes. I also like the nonchalant way he portrayed the rather laid-back Eisenheim. Rufus Sewell, well, he's been known to play some baddies. In fact, I think the only non-villain he plays is King Mark in "Tristan and Isolde." So there's really no surprises with the way he acts. He makes a very believable villain, however, so anyone not that familiar with him will be impressed. Jessica Biel, well, what to say? She did a good job as the Duchess Sophie, but nothing really noteworthy. In fact, Sophie was a bit...bland. But, ah vell. The Inspector for the the Prince (played by Paul Giamatti) was very well done. I can't say much more about him that wouldn't spoil the movie, though. Plot-wise, the twist is something a determined person can see and hang on to. But trust me, the real twist, the "illusion" is something you will come up with very easily...and then dismiss it because it seems too easy and cliche. Trust me.... In conclusion....go out and see this movie. NOW.

Open Season. Totally follows the typical formula for animated movies that are pumped out of Hollywood like sausages. Kinda funny, but I don't reccomend it.
