-- Pride --
Bradley looked down at the papers just brought to him about how the meetings between teams were going and smiled, gently rubbing his mustache. He glaced up and "Juilet Douglas" and nodded and she nodded back, swiveling in her chair and picking up her telephone on her desk.

The Major saluted again, "I'm sorry Ma'am. I have not! I shall keep my eyes open for him..." she trailed off and shrugged, "Which shouldn't be too hard." Den smiled a little at Major Jingles's comment. "I think we should all keep an eye out for the Lieutenant Colonel...Oh, and Major? It's nice to meet you...I'm Lieutenant Colonel Den, the SunFire Alchemist." Den held out her hand to shake hands with the Major.

Jingles gazed at her hand, before grasping it tightly in both of her own, shaking it very animatedly.
"It's a pleasure, sir, a real honor!"

Canine took her seat patiently, Major Elric huh? she thought, smirking his name, "I've head of him...Supposed to be a young and talented State Alchemist..." She said quietly, "This will be fun." She smiled behind her words. Mustang looked up from the case file and looked at his new recruit thoughtfully."Fun? Missions are not supposed to be"fun" but I suppose they can be in the right situation.According to this file,we will be joined by another member of the MSA shortly. She should be here soon.Fullmetal should be here anytime. While you're here,I'd like to hear more about what the nature of your skills are." He laid down the file and sat back patiently waiting for his answer. -------------------------------------------- -outside the building, front steps- Edward Elric was fast approaching the building running. He knew he was late and would have to listen to Mustang's harsh remarks again. He already missed the meeting and that was bad enough.Strangely,he was excited about the competition. The order he received stated he would be working with some guests from another army.Normally he would have been upset being ordered to work with more military pawns except this time the report said they were girls and they knew alchemy as well.As he approached Mustang's office he hoped they weren't going to be anything like his teacher,Izumi. Ed opened the door to the office and stepped in. "I'm here!Sorry I'm late." Ed waited for the usual quips and was shocked he didn't get one. Then he noticed he wasn't alone in the office with Mustang. There was a pretty, young girl seated in the chair across from Mustang's desk. Ed thought to himself -What's this? One of his dates?-B.G.Mustang-"This is Colonel Canine of the Miniskirt Army.Colonel, this Major Edward Elric the Fullmetal Alchemist.Take a seat Ed,you're just in time to hear your team mates personal skills.Your other team mate will be here soon." Fullmetal--steps towards the Colonel-"uh...Hi,Nice to meet you." Elf ran into the military hq as fast as she could, pulling her hair into a ponytail as she hurried up the stairs. How could she oversleep on a day like this!? A brand new assignment with a new CO and she was LATE!!! "What's my CO going to think?" Elf thought frantically. "I mean I missed the meeting and now this?!" She sighed... she could only hope this Brig. Gen. Mustang was forgiving. She turned down a long corridor at the top of the stairs and headed right. She scanned the plates on the doors as she passed... looking for the right office. THERE! "R. Mustang" that was it! She took a moment to compose herself, mostly so she wasn't gasping for breath, before straightening her shoulders and entering the room. Her new CO, Roy Mustang, sat behind a large desk facing two others already seated before him. A pretty girl smiled at her as she came in and a young blonde boy just watched her from the other chair. At least he looked young. She noticed, though, that his eyes seemed to hold more years than his face let on... so she couldn't be sure. That and she was terrible with first impressions. She turned from the other occupants back to her CO. 'Well,' Elf thought quietly, 'He doesn't seem too upset.' She just hoped she was right as she snapped a salute, bringing her heels together with a click. "Brig. General Mustang... Colonel Elf, the Dexterity Alchemist, reporting, sir. Sorry I'm late."

Ed watched as Colonel Elf took a seat next to him.He couldn't help but wonder how two girls almost his own age got to the rank of Colonel so quickly. He made a mental note not to underestimate these two until he learned more about them.

_-Sloth-_
Sloth dialed a number into the telephone, listening to the rings before a click, someone picking up the phone on the opposite end.
"Hello?" A young thingyy voice answered.
"Envy." Sloth acknowledged.
"Oh Sloth, what a... pleasant surprise."
"It's an update," she ignored his tone, "All of the teams have assembled."
"Fine. I'll tell Lust."
"That's all I ask."
She hung up the phone promptly, returning to her paperwork.

Major Mamoru saluted Gen. Nate and Gen. Mist on Fire at the canteen. "Where's duck, we gotta get thish game started. Guess I'd better tell my commandings officers my skills." He took in a deep breath. "I'm a proficient shooter, but I prefer swords." He taped the longsword at his waist. "With Alchemy I can heal flesh wounds and broken bones, and... He thought to his past before stopping, grimacing in emotional pain. "I'm a Medical Alchemist, by my name, Generals." He munched appreciatively on his sandwich. "As I was...." He hears the sound of shifting money, and peers over behind him and sees a card game. "Excuse me for a moment." He saluted and made his way to the card game. *** He returned to the table in fifteen minutes, but there was still no sign of duck. Major Mamoru grinned as he pocketed a fistful of money. A soldier walked behind Mamoru and leans to him. "I hope you didn't cheat for that." The soldier remarked, slyly. Mamoru narrowed his eyes as he looked to the soldier. "Course not. If you'll excuse me..." He noticed the soldier's rank; private. He smirked as he put on a booming, officious voice. "Private, I have a high-ranked officer's meeting I must attend and I must not be hampered by the suspicions of lesser-ranked soldiers!" He saluted the private mockingly and walked away, restraining himself from laughing. He walks back to General Nate and General MistonFire's table and waits for duck, counting his winnings and drinks very large drink. He flipped a coin as his mind drifted back to a sorrowful memory of his past...

He flipped a coin as his mind drifted back to a sorrowful memory of his past... After Major Mamoru listed off his many skills, Brig. Gen. Nate though to himself heh, I'm glad we have someone with medical knowledge with us. I barely passed first aid in boot camp... But another sharpshooter, eh? I don't doubt having two on the team will definitely give us an advantage. He shifted the rifle on his shoulders. I hope I get to get this thing off of my shoulder and start using it to win this exercise soon!As the Brig. Gen began eating his lunch (Major Duck was running rather late and Nate's stomach began complaining too loudly for him to stand), he heard a rather booming and outstanding voice proclaim "Private, I have a high-ranked officer's meeting I must attend and I must not be hampered by the suspicions of lesser-ranked soldiers!" As Mjr. Mamoru began to walk balk to the table, a smile definitely being held back behind the expression on his face, Nate just began laughing for all to see. The Major had found himself a drink and began drinking it. Suddenly, Nate remembered something: "Oh, I do believe I haven't told you what kind of... "skills(?)" I have up my sleeve. Like the Major, I'm a proficient shooter, but I use alchemy to change the air's density to speed up or slow down the bullet, and also to change its general direction. Nate opened his mouth to add to his repertoire, but scanned the crowded and noisy room quickly with his eyes and decided it was best not to reveal his other skill just yet. As the Major began to flip a coin, Nate reached into his pocket and felt his sunglasses as he thought Wouldn't want anyone finding out about these...

Colonel Canine: Pleasure, Major Elric. I look forward to working with you. She turned to the newcomer in the room and saluted. Colonel Canine: Colonel Elf, pleasure to meet you as well. She finally began to explain. Colonel Canine: My name is Colonel Jenna Canine, and also closely known as the Canine Alchemist. I had recieved my State alchemist name due to my immense familiarity with heightened senses. My type of alchemy allows me to assume a canine-like persona, and I'm able to track down certain things, depending on scent, and things like that. I can sift out scents, and easily track down anything. I am well trained, and would probably do best on an investigations unit. She sighed, and sat down once more, eyeing the people in the room nervously.

Besides... a tracker could come in mighty handy... especially since she herself probably couldn't find shoes in a shoe box! That... and she loved dogs. ^-^ she laughed slightly to herself, smiling at Canine. She remained standing waiting for someone else to speak.

"I'm impressed, General. Your technique reminds me of Brigadier General Mustang's back in Central." He said, absentmindedly. He noticed a bar brawl in the corner, where two soldiers were fighting over what appeared to be small coin. A coin...No wonder the military's power is failing. He thought. But it's good to see people are doing more for themselves these days, rather than being... what did I hear Major Elric say?... Oh yes. Dogs of the Military. His mind floated back to horrific scenes of his past, as he looked pulled back his sleeve to see the paler skin on the top of his arm. Equivalent Exchange, huh... One life for this arm is not equal, damnit! He thought, flashes of the dying men and women in the 'farms' in the beds, most lacking body parts, or even skin. *** It was an hour later, and Major Mamoru slowly got bored of waiting for duck, after having downed his third drink, which he was hoping was non-alcoholic or he'd be, as he put it screwed. He had no idea what this wonderful drink was, or what it was made of. All he knew that it was nothing that he'd learned to make in the past. Alchemy was first devised behind a bar. Screw the kitchen. He thought, putting his other arm on the table, about to lay down on it and go to sleep, when a card slipped out of his pocket. The soldier next to him noticed, and picked up the card; an Ace of Hearts. "Mamoru..." The soldier started, anger teething in his voice. Mamoru scratched the back of his head embarassed. "I swear that has nothing to do with my winnings. The Ace of Hearts has long been the symbol of my family, House Seishin." He tapped his chest. "The Heart was long thought to be the container of the 'spirit' so we adopted the Ace of Hearts as our emblem." He explained, but the soldier wasn't impressed. The soldier balled a fist and punched Mamoru in the side of the head, mildly hurting him. Mamoru returned with a kick, breaking the man's nose. He made 'tsk tsk' sounds as he put his two of his fingers on his right hand together; his index finger and his middle finger. People rarely noticed, but there was half a transmutation circle on each fingertip, and when he put his fingers together, he could use medical alchemy. He tapped the soldier on the nose, beginning a transmutation. Little did the soldier know that while Mamoru's right hand was mending his nose, his left hand was rifling through the man's pockets. Upon finding the man's wallet he finished the transmutation, successfully reconstructing the man's nose and restoring it's original shape. Mamoru helped the man stand up and offered to buy him a drink, but the angered soldier swore, in what Mamoru thought was a rather crude and unimaginitive manner as he walked away. So Mamoru shrugged, and pulled the man's money out of his wallet, pocketing the cash, and threw the wallet to the floor, carelessly. He noticed General Nate looking at him oddly. "To the victor go the spoils." Mamoru stated, grinning to himself and ordering another drink.

There was a sound of crashing and general commotion coming from the entrance of the area where Gen. Emoghostskirt was gathering her forces. Amid the roaring chaos, a booming, majestic voice proclaimed the arrival of a certain someone and his wonderfully sculpted muscles.
Scantly a minute later, a large imposing figure with a blond mustache and a tiny strand of like-colored hair on his head came crashing in the room. He would have looked menacing, were it not for the many sparkles that seemed to make form a sea of stars around the man. Everyone stared at him as he scanned the room with alert eyes. In one corner, he found a young lady wearing a smart grin and quite a fair amount of fruit salad on her chest. He raised an eyebrow but soon quickly recognized the young lass as- "GENERAL TERI EMOGHOSTSKIRT! A PLEASURE TO FINALLY MEET YOU!" The tall man immediately struck a stiff and sparkle-filled salute in front of the overshadowed general. His eyes glowing, the man stated "I am..." and initiated a melodramatic twirl as he ripped off his shirt and posed beneath a glowing spotlight and many sparkles. Amidst this scene of excessiveness, he cried "LIEUTENANT COLONEL ALEX LOUIS ARMSTRONG!" He struck another pose, similar to that of "The Thinker" and said "It's a pleasure to be under your command." Stepping out of the spotlight, he returned to a salute, albeit a shirtless one, and awaited her reply.

She had been waiting and scanning the room with a bit of a smartalec grin on her face. She always looked this way but most of the time she stared at the ground or the ceiling. Some people avoided her for it but she didn't care. Then she heard a loud voice and looked up. She saw a rather tall and muscular guy saluting her and doing poses. *sweatdrop* "uhhh....welcome to the group..." she said with a blank expression what the heck is he doing? and why she thought to herself she then said "so everyone is assembled accept hawkeye but she has another assignment and will be joining us later. That means for now we are all assembled" she said leaning against a wall..."soo now what do we do? Are we supposed to wait here untill the other groups assemble or what?" she asked not really expecting an answer. "hey wait where did Major Jingles go?" she asked looking around...

Den had to struggle to keep a straight face when Lt. Colonel Armstrong introduced himself. She had heard rumors about his overexhuberance, but hearing about it was one thing...seeing it was an entirely different matter. When she heard the General ask what they should do next, she cleared her throat. "Ummm...Excuse me, General Emoghostskirt, Sir? May I make a suggestion? I'm actually rather curious about what all of us specialize in...So maybe we should start with that?"

Upon hearing Den's words, Armstrong's exuberance gene immediately kicked into action. With even more melodrama than before, he showed off the pair of metal gloves he wore on his hands. "NOW OBSERVE THE ARTISTIC ALCHEMY THAT HAS BEEN PASSED DOWN THE ARMSTRONG LINE FOR GENERATIONS!" At this, he pounded the ground in front of him, despite the warnings of the others in the room. There was the yellow lightning of an alchemical reaction and a swirl of air. Once the fury and chaos ended, a tiny statue of the lieutenant colonel appeared, in his famous muscle flexing pose. The once-again-shirtless Armstrong leaned back with a smirk on his face and sparkles all around.
