Brigadier General Mustang stood with his arms folded in front of him watching with disgust. B.G.Mustang-" Are you awake now? Or do you need more?" Nate broke out in a cold sweat from every pore of his shaking body. A shiver went up his spine at the mere thought of it. He fought back the bile that was rising from his gut, still now mostly from the fear of this uniformed man before him. But last night's booze definitely had a hand in it. Gulping, Nate let out a whimper that, when listened to closely, was really a string of coherent words that said "N-no, s-sir." The reactions he had seared into his brain kicking in, Nate queried in the same manner as his last statement "T-t-t-o wha-what do I owe the p-p-pleasure, Brigadier G-General?" The statement couldn't have taken more than a half a second, but they seemed to stretch out into eternity. But that suited Nate rather well; he would need an eternity to protect himself from the tongue lashing he thought Mustang had in store for him.

Mustang turned and left the cell block and went to his office to wait.He pulled several items out of his desk and set them up on the smaller desk near the window. Then he took several case files and a stack of forms and laid them in a neat pile on top of the writing pad. B.G.Mustang-"This should keep him busy for a few days..." As soon as Mustang went out of sight, Nate let loose a sigh of relief, but soon ran to the toilet and released the bile he had felt building up during his brief but frightening tongue lashing. Rinsing his face off in the sink, Nate looked up in the mirror above it and saw that his face was a mess. Rings beneath his eyes made him seem like a raccoon and some dried spittle was present in the left corner of his mouth. His eyes were red and, when he coughed into his hand, Nate found out his breath smelled strongly of booze. But what miffed Nate was the sorry state his hair was in. No longer was his bang pulled to the right like he normally did it; it was a greasy mess. Nate stepped down to the cafeteria, where he got a cup of coffee. While in line, he queried if he could have "the whole damn pot." The line attendant said "Sorry, sir. Orders are to keep 'em 'hind the counter." Once he reached his table, Nate chugged the coffee with the same gusto he chugged red wine and vodka last night. He followed it up with some aspirins, which were followed by more coffee. The ceaseless chatter of the canteen did nothing for the hungover general's headache, and he soon found himself taking 3 mugs up to his office, where he downed them all. Needless to say, the coffee took a toll on his bladder, and he retreated for the men's locker room, where he relieved himself, took a shower, and changed into something presentable. The time was 1030 hours. At around 1100 hours, he reached Brigadier General Mustang's office and saw the stack of papers on his desk. Moving forward to get a closer inspection, Mustang saw him and said "All these are for you to fill out. You have a typewriter over there" and motioned towards a desk with a typewriter and even more papers that sat next to a small cup that held pencils and ballpoint pens. It was barely the kind of seat one would call a window seat, but it had a window nonetheless. Nate sighed, the sad kind of sigh a man might give if he was remembering a girl he had on his arm that left him. But he sighed not for any lady-his girlfriend wasn't bound to leave him after that drunken bout-he sighed for the nights he would've spent at the 10th Street Bar playing his trumpet for the patrons and the chocolate cake with red he would've had afterwards. Realizing that he'd gotten himself into this mess, Nate picked up the first form and began typing adeptly with nimble fingers. What I would do for some cake right now....

The door to Mustang's office opened and Lieutenant Hawkeye entered, her arms full of paperwork. She approached Mustang's desk and set them in front of him, her facial expression all business. She saluted him and proceeded with the report she needed to give.
"Brigadier General Mustang, I thought I'd check in with you before reporting to the Southern HQ group. I have the paperwork and reports in regards to the mission I was sent on. I was given direct orders from the Fuhrer to bring this to you. May I ask...who is that in the corner with the typewriter?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Colonel Hawkbelle awoke with the sunrise after a good night's sleep, an unusual occurance, seeing as how she normally can't stand mornings. After dressing in her standard-issue MSA uniform, she proceeded to Central HQ for her meeting with the other members of her division.

General emoghostskirt had gathered her stuff and walked out the door when it started raining. "Oh great it's raining..oh well dosen't matter anyway." she said then continued walking she actually enjoyed watching the rain, but not actually being in it. She went to her house not bothering to put the hood of her cape up. When she got back it was midnight and she decided to not bother going upstairs and just stared at the ceiling for hours. She stayed there untill about 0600 when she finaly fell asleep only to be awoken by her rather loud alarm clock and pet cat. She didn't expect it so she fell off the couch. *Sigh* "Well another all nighter it seems" she said half asleep. She then got up and got ready then went to the meeting place she had assigned, the roof of central library, and used her alchemy to lay down a dry flooring on it. Then sat near the edge of the roof. She was half asleep waiting for the others to show up. By the time anyone had arrived she was sleeping soundly on the edge of the roof. So she had not noticed the Major's arrival. The initial shock from Armstrong's dream had worn off, but he was still somewhat troubled. When he arrived on the roof of Central library, he noticed a blue figure atop a rather dry section of roof. Stepping forward in a rain that was getting lighter, Lt. Col. Armstrong cleared his throat as he thought to himself let us put on the grand facade once more..."GENERAL EMOGHOSTSKIRT! IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP! YOU'LL CATCH A COLD IN THIS RAIN! BUT WORRY NOT! SHOULD YOU FALL ILL, I SHALL PERFORM MY PATRIOTIC DUTY AND NURSE YOU BACK TO HEALTH! AND I'LL PREPARE CHICKEN SOUP USING A RECIPE PASSED DOWN THE ARMSTRONG LINE FOR GENERATIONS!" All the while, he was performing some rather showy poses, but their effect was diminished because of the lack of rippling muscle that usually accompanied them; his shirt was on to protect against the rain. After this showy and sparkly scene, Armstrong awaited the general's response and for more people to arrive.

((excues the no capitals or quote i broke my wrist and can only do soo much))
gen emoghostskirt was sleeping soundly when she was awoken by a rather loud voice. it startled her so much that she screamed and fell off of the roof. luckly she caught the edge of the roof and was able to stop her fall. well now she was irritated and holding on with one hand to the edge of the roof. "what the heck was that for?" she asked hanging on to the roof. She did her alchemy and made herself a ledge to stand on. "couldnt you of just woken me up instead of scaring me half to death and causing me to fall?" she said from her ledge. she was trying to catch her breath the major had just scared the living daylights out of her. she took a deep breath and used her alchemy to make stairs back up to the top of the roof. she went up but was still irritated. "if im sleeping on the edge of a roof again try not to scare me next time so i dont kill myself" she said angrily. she then sighed sat down and waited for the rest of the group to show up.

Mustang turned back to speak with the squad leader again."Take her home.I'll deal with the Brigadier General in the morning. He stays here." MPSL-"Sir!" Mustang left the MP headquarters and returned home to get a few more hours of sleep. He thought to himself tomorrow was going to be a very long day. Elf slept soundly that night, despite the rain constantly pounding on her windows. She had a reputation of being able to sleep through practically anything... and practically ANYWHERE. Currently she was half curled in her 'office' chair and have on top of her actual desk, her head cradled in her arms. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The sound of her rather annoying alarm clock ripped her from a peaceful dream. The quick motion of sitting up... sent her over the back of her chair and sprawling onto the floor. Elf groaned and heaved herself to her feet, slamming the off button on her alarm clock none-too-gently. 'If I had a hammer...' she threatened the infernal invention silently, knowing she was doomed to hear nothing but the blasted beeping for the rest of her natural born life! 5:30 A.M. What she wouldn't give to be able to sleep until 7! Elf briefly considered crawling back into bed for another half hour. But she didn't want to be late again... one mess up was enough... and she knew if she let herself get back in bed, she may very well stay there for the remainder of the day. That wouldn't go over too well with her superior and teammates. Elf sighed as she looked down at her now rummpled uniform. At least she'd managed to rid herself of the jacket before drooling all over her desk. It, at least, would be straight. She sighed again, grabbed a spare pair of slacks from her closet and set to trying to right her unruly hair. She wrestled the brown locks into a decent ponytail, grabbed her watch and gloves off her nightstand, shrugged on her jacket and left her dorm. She made good time walking the whole two blocks to Central HQ. She arrived an hour early for the meeting, still mostly dry thanks to the rain becoming a light drizzle, and decided to grab some breakfast from the cafeteria. Sure they didn't have the best food in town... but it was better than anything the small, empty cold-box back in her dorm could offer. Elf filled a tray with food and took a seat at a table, making sure to get a rather large coffee and lots and lots of sugar. She hated mornings. It was her least favorite time of day... but orders were orders... and she had a feeling she'd be beating the sun out of bed for quite some time to come. When she finished eating, she found some toothpicks and decided to head out to the area in front of the main building. Maybe being a half hour early would smooth over her late entrance yesterday. There were a few military personnel milling about, so Elf just plunked herself down on the nearest stone step and chewed on her toothpick... waiting for the rest of the teams to arrive. ............. edit by Mist-(((I took out some of the quoted post text, was too long ))

Canine's sleep had not been the best. The rain made her anxious, and she'd been tossing around the sheets all night. Probably got 2 hours of sleep. Waking every hour, checking the clock. She rolled around more, until she was on the edge of her bed, about to topple over.
Her alarm sounded so suddenly, she actually did fall off her bed. BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!
Canine: GYAHHHHHHH!
She sat up abruptly, and turned to her alarm clock and read the small numbers. 5:14am. She groaned with tiredness, realizing now, that she hadn't slept a wink.
Canine: Not good...
She sighed and regrettably woke up to the morning. Getting up at first, the hardest part of the day. She started out by ironing her uniform, and took a nice cool shower to wake herself up. She dried her hair, and got dressed, almost forgetting to grab her keys on the way out the door.
Walking tiredly down the streets, she forgot to have breakfast.
Canine: Ahhh...This day sucks so far...
She stopped by the nearest coffee shop and ordered a turkey sandwich, and a medium sized coffee. Even though she wasn't a coffee drinker. She ate her sandwich as she made her way to the tall building of the military. She spotted Col. Elf sitting on the steps eating she waved, smiling.
Canine: Glad to see someone had a late breakfast as well. Haha. Good morning , Colonel.

B.G.Mustang-"He's here to help me with some paperwork I got behind on.It's good to see you again Lieutenant." He set the stack of paper on his desk and continued. B.G.Mustang-"You've been assigned to work with the Southern HQ Team.General Emoghostskirt is holding her meeting on the library rooftop.Report to her there." Lt Hawkeye-"The library roof ,Sir?" B.G.Mustang-"There are worse places to hold a meeting." He shot a glare at Nate who caught the look and began typing faster. He saluted her as she left to join her team and a moment later another knock came at the door.Sgt.Falman entered the room and saluted. Sgt.Falman-"I was told to report to you here for instructions,Sir.What should I do?" B.G.Mustang-"Hmm,I don't have an assignment lined up for you.You can assist Brigadier General Nate in his current duty here for now." Mustang walked over to Nate's desk and pulled a stack of forms from it and set them on the desk opposite Nate's.Falman sat down and began to fill in the forms one by one. ------------------------------------------------- General Mist on Fire was woken from a sound sleep by a knock on the door. She quickly got dressed and answered it to find a young lieutenant waiting at the door.He saluted her and introduced himself. Havoc-"1st LT.Jean Havoc reporting Sir.I have a letter for your Team CO,but he was in custody this morning.I was told to bring this to you."He handed her the envelope and waited to be excused. G.M.O.F."Thank you Lt.You can go now" They saluted again and after he left she opened the letter and read it."Uh oh.This is bad.I need to take this to Mustang" She got dressed and left for his office. ----------------------------------------------------------------- meanwhile at the former Tucker estate...Edward Elric roused from a restless sleep. He quickly got up and dressed for the day. When he reached the bottom of the stairs he called out for Al but got no answer. He was already gone on an errand.Al also spent a lot of time away from this house, mainly spending the day with Gracia and Elysia Hughes. G.M.O.F.-"Brigadier General Mustang.I have a letter that requires your attention. It's regarding our team mate Major Mamaru. He appears to have gone missing" B.G.Mustang-"Missing?" he opened the letter and read the details and again shot a glare of contempt at Brigadier General Nate. "From the looks of this report, liquor isn't the only thing you have trouble keeping under control." Nate tried his best to hide his face from both Mustang and Mist behind an opened folder he had propped up to copy. G.M.O.F.-" I must be returning to my other duties in the MSA.I'll be leaving for home now." B.G.Mustang-"Have a safe journey,General" -salutes-As she left,Mustang turned to speak to Falman and Nate. B.G.Mustang-"I'm leaving to start this excersise now.You two stay here and continue your work" With that last statement,he left his office for the meeting place at the Hall steps.

"Good morning to you too, Colonel... you can just call me Elf btw," she answered her teammate smiling. She looked over to see Edward Elric coming toward them. He seemed to be in a good mood for the morning. Why was it her teammates were morning people? "Good Morning!"Ed saluted them with his greeting. Elf nodded and saluted the younger alchemist, not in the mood to stand up. "Good Morning, Major Elric," she greeted him. She stopped for a moment, looking the alchemist over, tilting her head to the side. "You know something..." she started. "You look taller from down here."

She swallowed and hurriedly apologized. "Relax, Major," she started a litttle shakily, holding up her hands. "I didn't mean it like that! Honest!" So much for a good impression. When Elf looked past Canine' shoulder, Canien turned to see Edward walking up to them. She smiled and was about to speak, when Elf spoke first. Words of regret on her part. Canine's eyes widened and she giggled at Edward's 'short' issues. Truth be told, she wasn't that much taller than her subordinate either. Standing at only 5'3. Canine took the hint from Elf's expression and took over. Canine: Calm down Major Elric, today is a day of teamwork, we won't get anywhere without being relaxed and working together. Canine nodded along with herself logically.

Ed wasn't calmed down by the scolding of what he already knew.
Ed-"Calm down?? Let's just get this over with!" Ed stepped past them and sat on a higher step and sulked a bit with his arms crossed facing away from them.
At that moment,Mustang came down from the top of the stairs and spoke to him.
B.G.Mustang-"Are you causing more trouble already? I can see your temper is as short as ever"
Ed exploded into full blown rage.
Ed-"What does that have to do with anything?!?!?"
B.G.Mustang-"Calm down Ed...we're starting now" He walked down a few more stairs and turned to face all three. "Your starting point is the main gates ahead of you.One marker has been placed in plain view.Search the area until you find the next, that will give the direction you need to follow. Each marker will more difficult to locate than the previous one.Locate as many as you can within 24 hours and return here at that time.Now....GO!"
He saluted them and stepped aside as all three ran for the gate.

Elf hadn't meant for her comment to be mean and now Ed was staying as far from her as possible. She sighed as they approached the gate. well, that was just perfect... the mission hadn't even started and she was already digging herself a hole... they reached the gate. Elf was looking left but couldn't see a flag... she looked to Ed and Canine to see if they'd had any luck...
