I was in elementary school and my dad picked me up but didn't tell me why, then we got mom up (we had no clue what happened till the end of the day, teachers, everybody) then we got home and my parents told me, it didn'tfreak me out because i was little and this kinda thing was new so it didn't really 'grip' me but it was still creepy.

Late, but that day really had a big impact on me so here it goes... I was in fourth grade. I remeber during 3rd period about five or six people just getting picked up by thier parents and all of us started asking our teacher what was wrong. He kept telling us nothing was, then we had library class and just before we went we asked again, and he said "I'll explain after you come back." During library three more kids left. We were all shaking and nervous by the time we went back to our class room. I'll never forget him, our teacher, he treated us like adults about it, not like a bunch of little kids. I remeber his speach too, even five years latter: "Today, there was an attack on our country, by somepeople meaning to hurt us. This morning two planes crashed into the Twin towers in New York City." We were really paronid after that, every noise was a bomb, everything was terrifyying. I was sent down to the front of the building to go get everyones lunch boxes so we could eat in the room, and as I walked down the hall I was crying hysterically. The planes that hit the towers took of from Pittsburgh, I think or thought, and thats were I live(in the suburbs), But my mom works downtown, right next to a federal building. I was so scared for her. One of my neighbors, who was in first grade, was at his locker and saw me crying. He told me his mom was taking him home and I cryed about how I wanted to go with him. When I got to the office with him his mom and my best friend (and neighbor's) mom were there. The principal let them take me home even because he knoews us, though he couldn't get in contact with my mom. The rest of the day was torcher, waiting for my mom to call.Apperantly she called but the lines were all tyed up. Evertually she got through.
I remember everything in vivid clearity, but the thing I remeber most was the fear mom was gone. I really appriciate my parents more pecause I realized I was so afraid of losing them.

I was in fourth grade and everyone went home early that day. At first, all the kids were like w00t and then when they found out, the next day, most of the elementary school (excluding the stupid kindergarteners) were freaked. I really wasn't 'cause I'm not very patriotic, but hey, it was pretty devestating.

I was actually a Sophomore in highschool. When it happened, I had been in the library, talking to my friend, wondering what it would be like to stand on top of the world trade center and look down. At the time, none of us had any clue as to what was happening. We didn't know until homeroom, which was right after being in the library. What's really creepy is my band trip that year was supposed to be to New York. Had the events of September 11 have happened in April the following year, I would have been there as the twin towers was one of our designated stops.

I was a freshman in college. We had just entered chapel (requirement at my christian college) and they told us the first tower had been hit. They continued chapel like it was nothing out of the ordinary, then at the end the dean came in and told us the second tower had just been hit. Dazed, we headed to classes because they hadn't been cancelled. I got to my psych class, he talked about it for a couple minutes, said a prayer and sent us on our way. I went back to my dorm and turned on the tv - CNN just happened to be one of the 5 channels we got in, so half our floor crowded into our room to watch all the footage. I remember trying to call my mom because I was convinced for some reason that someone in my family was in NYC that day, but when I finally got through she assured me that no one we knew was there.

I was in 6th grade and before my last class started and they gave us some paper that I had no idea what it was saying. (It didn't really say what happened till the last sentance) and then after they read it they told is in more detail of what happened. But eairler in the day I knew something had happened because at lunch when we were playing outside, they called us in immendtly and we had a lock down. As you can tell I remember it.

this is way late...but i remember exactly when i found out AND I remember what i was doing when the first plane hit. I was walking to school (being a freshman in high school at the time). My first class of the morning was choir, I still remember where I was sitting, and when the Athletic Director interrupted our class, we were stunned. Throughout the rest of the day, whenever we could, there were at least 30 students in the media center(or the library, if you wanna call it that), watching the news.

This is like really late but*shrugs* I was in fifth grade I believe because we'd just lost my grandma a month or so before. and I was in class like doing normal crap when I got told that I was to get my stuff together and go to the office because my mom had called up and pulled me out that day(Granted remember I live in Illinois) My older sister got the same treatment. When we got home mom flicked on the TV and it was all over the News. The reason we got pulled out of school is my parents are "retired" in active military some crap like that both could have been called back into service at any moment my dad got off work that dad.
