So yeah, just wanted to know.

I remember today 5 years ago very clearly.
It was a little before school was going to start. My mom and I had dropped my sister off at PV. I was in 5th grade. Having forgotten my trumpet, my mom was driving me back to our old house near the marketplace. After getting my trumpet, we hopped in the car and started driving back to school. Rick Dees (or however you spell his name) was on the radio, and was saying, just as we were passing by the athletic park on Harvard, "The twin towers have fallen!" Being an ignorant 5th grader, I had no idea what that meant. I didn't even think it was real.
Once I arrived at school, the news set in. I met up with my friends, who had also just heard. Some idiot said that Bush had just declared war on Pakistan... But I remember shaking one of my friends saying hysterically that we were all going to die. Once class started, we got in, and, of course, my teacher gave us a short speech about it. She had seen me from the window, apparently, since she indirectly said that I had been misbehaving about the situation. Of course, I felt very embarassed.
After that, our principal and the vice principal came in. Our first principal was very passionate about his work... it was evident today. He went to each and every class and delivered a short speech about unity and strength to us. After that, I think he held a speech on the intercom.

And that's all I remember.

^^; I was at school... 6th grade, the first year of school I did in the US. My English still wasn't too strong so I was a little confused when they informed us about the attacks. It wasn't until I got home (And I got a spongebob pillow as a gift) that I found out what had happened... I didn't realize how bad it really was until I got to see more of it... It makes me feel pretty sad... I prayed for all the families and the souls of the victims and hope for the best. >.o

I was at home, playing Final Fantasy 7. It was 9.30 PM and my mum came and got me. I was thinking 'holy f**k'. And then I started reading up on terrorism, the WTC and al-Quaeda and stuff.

i was at home getting ready for work and I heard it on tv that morning,then I heard moredetails on the radio when I went to work.I called my old high school friend who lived in New York City to see if he was okay and the first thing he says to me is "I'm alive!" He added that he was going to go to the WTC that morning but intuition told him not to.

I asked him if he could buy me a newspaper for the following day that covered it and he said that edition of the New York Times had completely sold out.He had a hard time finding me a copy,but he did find one and mailed it to me.I still have it.The stories that were printed in it were incredible,there was a whole section of stories about the survivors who got out and how they found their way out of the building.One story was a man who was making his way out of the building and he couldn't see because of all the smoke and there was a photographer near him taking pictures as he ran out and he followed the flashes of the camera in the smoke to get out of the building.Crazy stuff.

Freshman year of high school, physics/chem class..They made an announcement. We were all pretty stunned.

i was in fourth grade doing my work then suddenly i heard a big BOOM! i was freaked out cuz i thought there was an accident outside my school but then an old friend of mine came into my classroom and told my class that two planes crashed into the WTC i couldnt believe it he tried to prevent us from goin to the room where you can see the buildings and all that but i asked to go to the bathroom and on my way i saw it...smoke everywhere D: not pretty..i didnt witness the whole thing but my mom did cuz her office was across NYC and you can see the WTC from there

I was in 7th grade and as soon as I had walked into my science class... I saw the second plane hit the towers. I had no idea what was happening. Our principal made us turn off the tv's but my english teacher thought we should know what was happening and let us watch the news coverage.

i know i'm soooo late on replying to this but i remember sleeping in my room and my mom came in screaming they were bombing the united states so naturally since my other elder brother is military trained i grabbed my bb rifle and decided since both my father and brothers were at work it'd be my job as the eldest daughter to protect the family yeah stupid i know... so i switched on the tv to see just what the heck was going on... and since it was live coverage i watched the second plane hit the WTC and i was stunned.... i actually cried, being raised surrounded by marines most of my life i can say i'm pretty proud of my country and stuff and to see that cut me really deep. i was supposed to go to my creative writing class that day but i decided not to leave my house incase something worse happened. then when they said another plane hit the pentagon i started panicing since i always believed the pentagon was the central operations for everything military. so i called my brother lucas who was at the marine corps base ordering an officers sword for my dad anywho he told me everyone on base was on full alert and that he wasn't coming home since his c/o was with him and they'd just been called in (he's in recon scout sniper) then more news about the towers falling which i was watching when that happened and when they grounded all the planes they said one was still missing and that one was on route from i believe boston to LAX which is just 20 miles from where i live so i was paranoid about that....it was the second time in the 50 years that disneyland completely closed everything they closed the main gates and those are never closed.... i remember the calm silence at night too, since i live near john wayne airport i'm used to hearing the planes but all i heard was silence and the occasional fighter jet that made it's rounds.... it was pretty scary and pretty sad.... it's also the last time i've seen my brother lucas.... i haven't seen him since after that week because he's been in the middle east for that long.... i don't know while on tour we stopped in NYC and everyone wanted to see "ground zero" but to this day i can't bring myself to go there it's still a kinda sensitive topic for me thus why i haven't replied... all i know is that i know i'll never forget this because someone said if you forget what happens in the past then you truely have no future.... but that's all i have to say about that

I was in 10th grade, English class. I heard talk in the halls, then an announcement was made. Spent all of Art Class watching the news. Then found all the major details at home.

Yeah, sorry I'm so late too...

It didn't really have that much of an impact on me. I was in the fifth grade and we had just gotten done with Gym. Our teacher got us early and said we should hear it from him first, and that we shouldn't worry.

I think I must be really heartless, because I can't bring myself to concieve that much loss, so I can't feel that bad. It's a really weird feeling...
